Consumer Guarantees

The Australian Consumer Law ("ACL") is in place to protect consumers like you by providing certain guaranteed rights when you purchase goods and services. These rights are designed to ensure that the products and services you receive meet specific standards. Here's what you need to know:

Consumer Guarantees: Under the ACL, you are entitled to certain guarantees known as 'Consumer Guarantees.' These guarantees automatically apply when you purchase goods or services as a consumer. They include the following:

  • Goods: Goods must be free from defects and perform the tasks they are meant to do.
  • Services: Services must be carried out with care and skill.

These Consumer Guarantees cannot be excluded, and they continue to apply as long as they are reasonable, taking into account factors such as the product's cost and quality or any representations made.

Your Rights: As a consumer, you have specific rights under the ACL:

    • For a major failure, you are entitled to a replacement or refund, as well as compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
    • If goods fail to be of "acceptable quality," and the failure is not considered a major failure, you have the right to have the goods repaired or replaced.

Time Limits: Consumer Guarantees do not have a set time limit. Instead, they generally last for a reasonable amount of time based on various factors. These factors may include the nature of the product and any representations made.

Our Commitment: At Futurebot, we are committed to upholding your Consumer Guarantees and providing you with the remedies you are entitled to under the ACL. Our policies, as outlined in our "Refunds & Warranties, Understanding Your Rights" Brochure, are intended to align with your statutory rights under the ACL for faulty products. However, these policies do not limit your rights; they are in addition to your Consumer Guarantees and other rights under the law.
